Reaching Out is the eighth anthology of poetry writing from children in Southwark EIS schools. Many of these poems have been inspired by children’s engagement with rich literature and creative learning experiences from CLPE’s Power of Reading project. Children’s voices can be ‘heard’ sharing insights, expressing ideas and playing with language on matters that reach around the world and close to home. Illustrated with children’s stunning visual art, supported by Phillippa and Licy Clayden (Young Visions), animations supported by Tom Cross and striking photographs by Phil Polglaze, this collection shows that poetry is vibrantly alive in south London schools.
